John has been privileged to travel the globe many times since his youth. In recent years, he has capitalized upon these travels to assemble an unsurpassed network of artisans, materials suppliers and craftsmen unlike any other. In many cases his access to these resources is not only exclusive, but proprietary along the Atlantic seaboard.
As co-owner of one of the East Coast’s most respected carpet importers, John has a network of craftsmen and suppliers in Istanbul that enables him to provide antique Soumak carpets from nomadic cultures, silk Herekes as well exquisite hand-woven Oushaks with their ancient knotting techniques.
Textiles from the premium mills of Donghia & Bergamo, Duralee and Kravet are made possible through John’s personal relationships with the suppliers. Precious wall surfacing materials from Maya Romanoff to the handcrafted glass and ceramics of Dunis Studios are among just a few of John’s incomparable sources.
